This Campaign is to bring attention to the number of Indigenous people with cognitive impairment in prison – many of whom will have FASD.
Indigenous people with cognitive impairment are over-represented in criminal justice settings across Australia.
This group (compared to the non-disabled population) are more likely to come to the attention of police, more likely to be charged, more likely to be remanded in custody and more likely to be sentenced and imprisoned.
